Brytyjskie małe krążowniki kolonialne - wariant FC2

Prezentowany w poście z 29 listopada 2024 r. projekt krążownika kolonialnego oznaczonego symbolem FC1 nie wzbudził entuzjazmu w admiralicji brytyjskiej. Zażądała ona większego okrętu, dysponującego m.in. działami kal. 152 mm. W ten sposób w październiku 1912 r. powstał projekt FC2 – o wyporności 2000 ton, wyposażony w 2 działa kal. 152 mm i 6 – kal. 102 mm. Miał nieco większe wymiary niż FC1, ale skala opancerzenia i osiągi (prędkość) pozostały na zbliżonym poziomie. Projekt zyskał sobie pozytywne opinie, ale wskutek sprzeciwu adm. Battenberga i Jellicoe, ostatecznie nie zmaterializował się. Projekt był popierany przez Churchilla, ale i to na wiele się nie zdało i obydwa krążowniki kolonialne pozostały jedynie na papierze.
