Pora już na nowy jacht królewski, bowiem pełniąca tą funkcję
bocznokołowa jednostka pochodzi z 1863 r. i jest już zdecydowanie przestarzała
i niereprezentacyjna. Oczywiście, ze względów finansowych (nie możemy sobie
pozwolić na zbytnia rozrzutność i fundować monarsze jednostki nieprzydatnej do
niczego innego prócz wożenia go;-)), nowy okręt będzie mógł na wypadek wojny
pełnić również funkcję krążownika – stąd spora prędkość, niezłe uzbrojenie w 6
nowoczesnych, szybkostrzelnych dział kal. 120 mm, no i nawet opancerzenie! (choć niespecjalnie grube)
Nie ukrywam, że wzorowałem się tu na rosyjskim krążowniku –jachcie Swietłana,
na co dzień służącym jako flagowiec naczelnego dowódcy rosyjskiej floty, przy
czym w naszej historii alternatywnej polska jednostka jest raczej pierwowzorem
okrętu rosyjskiego, jako że powstała nieco wcześniej..
