W nawiązaniu do dyskusji o szybkim pancerniku proj. U5 (post z 18 marca 2021 r.) prezentuję alternatywny wariant U4, czyli okręt z wszystkimi wieżami ustawionymi w osi symetrii. Takie ustawienie wież pozwoliło je potraktować w springsharpie jako jedną baterię, i dzięki temu (kontrowersyjnemu – nie ukrywam) zabiegowi udało się uzyskać nieco lepsze parametry. Postanowiłem zrobić to w sposób zbilansowany i zwiększyłem grubość pancerza na burcie (do 330 mm), grubość wzdłużnej grodzi przeciwtorpedowej (do 57 mm), prędkość do 25,5 w. oraz zapas pocisków 381 mm do 100 szt. na działo. Legenda powstania tych okrętów pozostaje niezmieniona i jest taka, jaka została przedstawiona w poście z 18 marca. Życzę pozytywnego odbioru nowego wariantu :)
