Dziś jeden z bardziej znanych niezbudowanych okrętów – „duży” krążownik proj. 68 ze stoczni Monfalcone, zamówiony przez Chiny. Była to ciekawa jednostka, która licząc zaledwie 4900 ton wyporności miała nieść 4 działa 203 mm, 12 dział 120 mm oraz liczne lżejsze działka i rozwijać 28 w. przy całkiem niezłym opancerzeniu (pb 100-60, pp 63-25, pag 100, psd 100). Okręt został zamówiony w 1913 r., ale stępkę położono dopiero w 1915. Przez perturbacje wojenne (w tym przejściowe zajęcie stoczni przez Włochów) okrętu oczywiście nie ukończono, ale w 1918 r. pojawił się pomysł ukończenia go dla floty austro-węgierskiej w zmodyfikowanym kształcie (ze zunifikowaną artylerią liczącą 8-9 dział 150 mm).
Co do symulacji, należy wspomnieć że odbiega ona minimalnie od tego, jak projekt ten jest przedstawiany. M.in. na navypedii piszą, że artyleria małokalibrowa miała składać się aż z 10 działek 47 mm, 4 działek 37 mm, oraz dodatkowo 4 km-ów 7,9 mm. Dosyć to osobliwy zestaw jak na okręt skonstruowany w przededniu PWS, bardziej przypominający baterie lekkich działek przeciw torpedowcom na okrętach XIX-wiecznych. Poza tym, doprawdy nie widzę jakby można sensownie rozmieścić na tym kadłubie tak liczne działa. Dlatego symulowana jednostka ma tylko 8 działek kal. 47 mm. Poza tym – symulacja dość wiernie oddaje założenia projektu, choć do zakładanej prędkości brakło 0,5 w.
Rysunek, by nie wyważać otwartych drzwi, generalnie zapożyczyłem z forum shipbucket, nieco go modyfikując i tworząc kilka wariantów malowań.
