Ciężki monitor amerykański

Dziś okręt inspirowany znalezionym w sieci artykułem z amerykańskiej prasy z 1891 r. , w którym przedstawiono w najogólniejszym zarysie (ale z rysunkiem) pomysł ok. 10.000-tonowego monitora dla US Navy uzbrojonego w 8 dział kal. 330 mm. Okręt jak się domyślam, miałby być alternatywą dla realnie zbudowanych „pełnomorskich pancerników obrony wybrzeża” typu Indiana w przypadku pozostania floty amerykańskiej jako sił obrony wybrzeża (co było możliwe, biorąc pod uwagę sporą ówcześnie niechęć społeczeństwa amerykańskiego i wielu decydentów do budowy pełnomorskiej floty liniowej).
