Korweta parowo-żaglowa (1877)



No, teraz to mnie chyba rozstrzelacie, ale trudno – narysowałem, to trzeba zaprezentować;-) Poniższy okręt to korweta parowo-żaglowa, odpowiedź na niemieckie korwety typu Leipzig i Bismarck, wodowane w latach 1875-1879. Na tym przykładzie widać niestety, że flota niemiecka zaczyna nam ilościowo odjeżdżać – bo naszych jednostek są tylko dwie, a ich – w sumie aż osiem (sześć typu Bismarck po ok. 3000 ton i dwie jeszcze większe korwety typu Leipzig po 4500 ton). Pozostając jednak jako tako wiernym realiom, nie mogę niestety zignorować faktu potęgi ekonomicznej Rzeszy w tym czasie i naszej relatywnej mizerii względem niej. No chyba, że bardzo będziecie chcieli, to dobuduję jeszcze tych korwet:-P

Alternatywny okręt torpedowy


Spodziewając się nienadzwyczajnego entuzjazmu dla poprzednio (14.11.2013 r.) proponowanej jednostki torpedowej, przygotowałem jej alternatywę;) Ideą tego okrętu jest – wzorem niskoburtowych monitorów – takie schowanie kadłuba pod wodą, by tylko minimalna jego część wystawała ponad linię wodną – co może się okazać korzystne, jeśli uwzględnimy nadal kiepską prędkość­ okrętu. Oczywiście tak skonstruowana jednostka nadawać się będzie tylko do działań przybrzeżnych, przy morzu płaskim jak stół, ale de facto tylko do tego nadawały się wszystkie chyba XIX-wieczne torpedowce, a już na pewno te z lat 70-tych..
PS. Ponieważ mam wielką awersją do nadawania okrętom oznaczeń literowo-cyfrowych, a zamierzam już wkrótce dla naszej floty wybudować różnych torpedowców większą chmarę – to zapraszam już teraz do przedstawiania swoich propozycji nazw (lub serii nazw) dla tych jednostek;)

Nowa kanonierka

Nowy typ kanonierki jest w zamierzeniu okrętem uniwersalnym, przydatnym zarówno w koloniach, jak i na wodach macierzystych. Nie stanowi co prawda żadnego przełomu w stosunku do poprzedniego typu, ale uznałem, że tamtego mamy za mało (raptem 4 jednostki) i konieczne jest uzupełnienie:)

Okręt torpedowy



Dziś prezentuję kolejną nowatorską (jak sądzę) jednostkę – okręt torpedowy. Nie jest to co prawda torpedowiec w pełnym tego słowa znaczeniu, a raczej jednostka która mógłby podejść skrycie, najczęściej pod osłoną nocy, do bazy nieprzyjaciela i tam zaatakować jego okręty. Stąd w jej konstrukcji nie kierowałem się dążeniem do prędkości, która zbyt imponująca nie jest – zresztą biorąc pod uwagę poziom ówczesnych silników parowych przy tej wielkości okrętu duża i tak by nie mogła być. Za to okręt ma szczątkowe ożaglowanie (!) co może się przydać przy skrytym ataku, jeśli akurat wiały by sprzyjające wiatry. Oczywiście, jest to tylko uboczna możliwość, zasadniczo okręt ma działać napędzany silnikiem parowym.  Wydaje się, że możliwości bojowe jednostki są cokolwiek ograniczone, niemniej jednak w porównaniu z poprzednikami wyposażonymi jedynie w miny (czy jak kto woli torpedy) wytykowe stanowi on znaczący postęp. Ponadto, trzeba powiedzieć, że  bodaj żadna inna flota na świecie na ten czas (ok. 1874 r.) niczym lepszym w dziedzinie broni torpedowej nie dysponowała..
Oczywiście musi tu paść pytanie – skąd już w pierwszej połowie lat 70-tych XIX w. polska flota miała by mieć do dyspozycji torpedę samobieżną? Wprawdzie Robert Whitehead pierwszy model samobieżnego pocisku podwodnego opracował już w 1866 r., ale miało to miejsce w austriackim wówczas Fiume i trudno oczekiwać, by Austriacy tak nowatorską broń nam udostępnili. Podobnie Wielka Brytania – do której wkrótce Whitehead przeniósł produkcję swoich torped. Musimy więc założyć, że torpeda powstała własnymi siłami – na szczęście mamy osobę Stefana Drzewieckiego, który miał, co prawda nieco później, ale jednak niepodważalne osiągnięcia w dziedzinie nowatorskich sposobów prowadzenia wojny na morzu (okręty podwodne, torpedy itd.). W rzeczywistości już w 1872 r. Drzewiecki został mianowany przez Wlk. Ks. Konstantego członkiem i doradcą Komitetu Technicznego Marynarki Rosyjskiej. Nic nie stoi na przeszkodzie, by w naszej alternatywnej rzeczywistości ten sam Konstanty, jako monarcha polski, zaoferował podobną funkcję Drzewieckiemu we flocie polskiej, by ten zajął się konstruowaniem np. samobieżnego pocisku podwodnego. Sądzę też, że nic nie sprzeciwia się przyjęciu tezy, iż Drzewiecki byłby w stanie opracować projekt w miarę sprawnie (jak na ówczesne realia, rzecz jasna) działającej samobieżnej torpedy już w pierwszej połowie lat 70-tych XIX w. (nawet jeśli nie poruszającej się w zanurzeniu, to przynajmniej po powierzchni wody, co powinno być stosunkowo łatwiejsze do osiągnięcia, a i tak stanowiło by zagrożenie dla zaatakowanej jednostki).

Dzisiaj prezentuję drugie wcielenie kanonierki flat-iron - tym razem z ożaglowaniem. Jest to nieco niestandardowe rozwiązanie jak na okręt tej klasy, ale sporadycznie się zdarzało - np. na jednostkach chińskich.

Flota polska w XIX w. - kanonierka flat-iron



Jednostka, która dzisiaj prezentuje, należy do bardzo popularnej latach 70-tych i 80-tych XIX w. klasy okrętów wojennych. Jest to kanonierka typu „flat-iron” (żelazko – od kształtu tych okrętów), czyli mały okręt wyposażony w jedno ciężkie działo. Okręty tej klasy budowane były nieomal masowo prze wszystkie ważniejsze floty tamtych czasów, jako tanie okręty obrony wybrzeża. Doświadczenia wojenne (np. bitwa pod Foochow, gdzie chińskie okręty tej klasy zostały dosłownie rozstrzelane przez krążowniki francuskie) wykazały jednak, że niezbyt się do tego nadają, za to mogą się sprawdzić jako okręty ofensywne, do ostrzału pozycji lądowych które są nieruchome, a dzięki małemu zanurzeniu można było podejść do nich bliżej niż większymi okrętami. Dzięki stosowaniu na ogół dwóch śrub napędowych, kanonierki te były zazwyczaj dość zwrotne, ale przy swych rozmiarach – nie grzeszyły nadmiernie dobrą dzielnością morską. Przez to również okręty te nie nadawały się do walki z wrogimi jednostkami pływającymi, które przy większych wymiarach były lepszą platformą dla dział i zapewniały lepsze warunki ich obsłudze.
Cechą wspólną prawie wszystkich kanonierek typu „flat-iron” było umieszczenie jednego ciężkiego działa (czasem monstrualnie wręcz wielkiego – na włoskich  okrętach była to 16-calówka!) na stanowisku na dziobie, z możliwością strzelania wzdłuż osi wzdłużnej okrętu lub z niewielkim od niej odchyleniem (chodziło o to, że odrzut działa mógł by zagrozić stabilności jednostki w przypadku strzału na burtę). Ciekawostką jest, że z racji niezwykłej relacji wagi dział do wielkości tych jednostek zwano je nieraz wręcz pływającymi lawetami dla dział.
Pierwsza kanonierka „flat-iron” dla floty polskiej jest wyposażona w jedno działo odtylcowe kal. 203 mm (więc wcale nie takie wielkie na tle okrętów innych flot) i podobnie jak większość analogicznych jednostek w innych flotach – pozbawiona jest ożaglowania.

Flota polska w XIX w. - transportowiec



Kolejna jednostka dla naszej floty to poniższy transportowiec. Jednostka jest inspirowana brytyjskimi transportowcami typu Euphrates, zbudowanymi w latach 1866-67 do przewożenia żołnierzy do Indii. Podobnie jak one, mógłby zapewnić transport oddziałów wojska do kolonii, a w wypadku wojny – pełnić także funkcję krążownika pomocniczego (po dozbrojeniu, bo na czas pokoju uzbrojenie jego jest czysto symboliczne).

A dziś taki sobie monitor:-) Bez specjalnego uzasadnienia taktycznego – po prostu zachciało mi się zafundować naszej flocie okręt z diagonalnym ustawieniem artylerii, do którego to sposobu jej rozmieszczenia mam pewną słabość. Flota polska w XIX w. - kanonierka "kolonialna"



Kolejny okręt to kanonierka, ale tym razem nie przybrzeżna, ale przeznaczona do dalszych wypadów. Można by ją nazwać kolonialną, bowiem obmyśliłem ją sobie jako okręt do działań w odległych posiadłościach zamorskich, które w latach 70-tych XIX w. dla naszego państwa zdecydowany jestem pozyskać:-) Dla odpowiedniej autonomiczności okręt ma wciąż napęd żaglowy, ale też przyzwoity jak na te czasy zasięg wynoszący ponad 3000 mil morskich. Z kolei niezbyt imponujące jest uzbrojenie artyleryjskie, składające się z zaledwie dwóch dział kal. 152 mm – ale wydaje się, że do zaprowadzania porządku w koloniach, prowadzenia służby patrolowej i „prezentowania bandery” w czasie pokoju to powinno być wystarczające.

Flota polska w XIX w. - taranowiec



Udane staranowanie włoskiego pancernika Re d’Italia w trakcie bitwy pod Lissą uczyniło w oczach wielu taranowanie podstawowym sposobem walki na morzu. Z perspektywy czasu wydaje się, że był to pogląd błędny, bowiem do udanych przypadków taranowania dochodziło zawsze w sytuacjach specyficznych – albo na ciasnych wodach śródlądowych, albo (jak pod Lissą) albo też taranowane były przypadkowo okręty które akurat zostały unieruchomione. Niemniej wówczas, zwłaszcza wobec relatywnej nieskuteczności ówczesnej artylerii w stosunku do pancerza, oraz małej ilości doświadczeń bojowych sądzono inaczej. Wyrazem tego było powstanie nowej klasy okrętów przeznaczonych specjalnie toczenia walki w ten sposób – taranowców, a także przystosowanie do tego okrętów innych klas, poprzez wyposażanie ich w tarany.
Wobec powszechności poglądów o skuteczności taktyki taranowania, postanowiłem i naszą flotę wyposażyć w wyspecjalizowany do tego zadania okręt. Jednostka ma sporą szybkość, oraz dwie śruby dla lepszej zwrotności – bowiem te cechy wydają się kluczowe dla możliwości skutecznego taranowania. Oprócz tego, okręt posiada pancerz w części dziobowej, a także jedno działo w wieży artyleryjskiej na dziobie – te cechy oczywiście również są determinowane przewidywanym sposobem walki.
