Znaczne straty poniesione od początku działań wojennych przez
nasze okręty pełniące służbę na liniach dozoru sprawiły, iż
pojawiła się konieczność wprowadzenia nowych jednostek
przeznaczonych do wykonywania tego typu zadań. W założeniu mają
to być małe, nieskomplikowane i niedrogie jednostki,
które mogły by być produkowane w większych ilościach także
przez stocznie, które dotąd nie miały doświadczenia w budowie
okrętów wojennych. Na stanie mają po 2 działa kal. 75 mm i 1 kal.
37 mm. Napęd ich jest skrajnie uproszczony – stanowi go klasyczna
maszyna parowa, z kotłami opalanymi węglem (dostanie mi się
pewnie za to wstecznictwo, ale takie rozwiązanie zostało przyjęte
ze względu na utrudnienia w dostępie do paliw płynnych w trakcie
wojny). Jak widać, skutkiem przyjętych założeń, nowe jednostki
swoim uzbrojeniem i parametrami nie robią oczywiście żadnego
wrażenia. Ale myślę, że jest to zrozumiałe – mają bowiem być
liczne, a zatem proste w produkcji a nie skomplikowane i wyrafinowane
technicznie. Swoją liczebnością mają zapewnić odpowiednią
„gęstość” linii dozoru, tak by żadna wroga jednostka nie
przecisnęła się niepostrzeżenie w pobliże naszych wybrzeży.
Pewne straty będą przy tym nieuniknione, ale oceniam, iż pozostaną
na akceptowalnym poziomie. Spodziewam się bowiem, że wrogie okręty,
jeśli już podejmą próbę jakiejś akcji ofensywnej przeciw naszym
bazom czy wybrzeżom, to raczej nie będą się uganiać za stadami
dozorowców, których zniszczenie i tak już nic nie zmieni, skoro
zdążyły nadać meldunek do własnego dowództwa o wrogich
okrętach.
Na
początek proponuję serię 10 jednostek. Jeśli spotkają się z
uznaniem, nie wykluczam kontynuacji ich budowy :) Jeżeli okaże się
to niezbędne, myślę, że w przyszłości będzie możliwość
rozszerzenia ich funkcji o trałowanie min bądź zwalczanie okrętów
podwodnych.
Z
racji na pospieszną, wojenną budowę, nie przewiduję znacznej
trwałości tych jednostek i co za tym idzie – dłuższej ich
służby. Zapewne wkrótce po zakończeniu działań wojennych w
większości pójdą na złom, względnie zostaną sprzedane cywilnym
armatorom, u których jako np. małe statki handlowe mogły by
posłużyć jeszcze przez jakiś czas.
