Holenderski POW z 1912 r. - 04.05.2010

W 1912 r. holenderskie ministerstwo marynarki wojennej przedstawiło
propozycję budowy nowego pancernika obrony wybrzeża, którego ogólna
charakterystyka stanowiła rozwinięcie dotychczas budowanych przez
holenderską marynarkę wojenną pancerników obrony wybrzeża w typie
pomniejszonego pre-drednota. Projekt nazwany Pantserschip 1912,
przewidywał jednostkę o wyporności 7600 ton, uzbrojeniu w 4 działa 280
mm w dwóch wieżach i 10 pojedynczych dział 105 mm, a także 3 wyrzutnie
torped 533 mm. Prędkość zakładano na poziomie 16 w. generalnie projekt
przypominał szwedzki typ Sverige, choć był sporo wolniejszy. Ostatecznie
projekt odrzucono, m.in. z powodu artylerii średniej, której kaliber
uznano za niewystarczający (za pożądany uznano kaliber 120 mm). Do tego
uznano za konieczne posiadanie co najmniej 1 wyrzutni torped więcej, oraz
zwiększenie prędkości. Na te modyfikacje przewidywano dodatkowych 1000
ton wyporności. Powstały na podstawie tak zmodyfikowanego projektu okręt
mógłby wyglądać tak:
