Pancerniki typu Queen Victoria - 06.01.2012

W dzisiejszym wpisie prezentuję moją symulację hipotetycznego brytyjskiego pancernika będącego następcą typu Queen Elizabeth.Pomysł zaczerpnąłem ze strony http://www.wolfsshipyard.mystarship.com/Misc/WolfsDen/various.html (z której pochodzą również poniższe grafiki). Najogólniej rzecz ujmując, okręt ten jest powiększoną do 35000 ton wersją typu Queen Elizabeth, w której wzrost wyporności spożytkowano na zamontowanie dodatkowej wieży dział 15 calowych na śródokręciu. Podobnie jak poprzednik, jest to (jak na warunki pierwszowojenne) szybki pancernik, z kotłami opalanymi paliwem płynnym. Tym samym, jest przedstawicielem zupełnie innego kierunku rozwoju, niż zbudowane w rzeczywistości pancerniki typu R, i trudno oprzeć się wrażeniu, iż w kontekście ewentualnej późniejszej służby w czasie Drugiej Wojny Światowej, okazałby się znacznie lepszym wyborem niż tamte konserwatywne i niezbyt udane jednostki.Również w latach Pierwszej Wojny Światowej taki pancernik prawdopodobnie nie miałby sobie równych - wątpliwe by w warunkach wojennych Niemcy byli w stanie odpowiedzieć czymś równorzędnym..
