Jak
wiadomo, Prinzregent Luitpold – piąty drednot typu Kaiser, był okrętem
po części eksperymentalnym. W rzeczywistości dotyczyło to napędu –
którym oprócz standardowych turbin parowych, były silniki diesla (co
okazało się ostatecznie niewypałem i okręt i tak pływał tylko na
turbinach). Ja postanowiłem zaeksperymentować jeszcze bardziej i przy
minimalnie tylko zmienionym kadłubie wyposażyłem okręt w działa 420 mm,
takie same w jakie faktycznie nieco później Niemcy planowali wyposażyć
krążowniki liniowe projektuGK4021. Oczywiście, przed wybuchem wojny
działa takie nie były dostępne (po jej wybuchu zresztą też), dlatego
niniejszą wizję, jakkolwiek wydaje się być ciekawa
(salwa burtowa wzrasta z 4 do ponad 6 ton!), to należy traktować jednak
z przymrużeniem oka;-)
