Krążownik Orioł - 30.11.2010

Po klęsce cuszimskiej we flocie rosyjskiej pojawiły się plany budowy dużej liczby nowych okrętów, mające wyrównać (i to z nawiązką) straty wojenne. Wśród planowanych jednostek, były nieraz bardzo ciekawe jednostki. Jednym z rozważanych pomysłów był 5000-tonowy szybki krążownik uzbrojony w 2 działa 8-calowe. Z perspektywy czasu można się spodziewać, że taka jednostka mogła by się dobrze sprawdzić podczas pierwszowojennych działań na Bałtyku, kiedy to zwykle szybkie małe krążowniki niemieckie z łatwością uciekały silniejszym, ale wolnym okrętom rosyjskim. Przed okrętem 27-węzłowym nie było by już tak łatwo uciec, a on sam, w wypadku napotkania przeważających sił wroga, mógłby "dać nogi". Niestety, trudno się spodziewać by przy takiej wyporności okręt ten nie był przeciążony uzbrojeniem i opancerzeniem i miał przyzwoitą dzielność morską.
