Spahkreuzer to planowany przez Kriegsmarine typ okrętu
pośredniego pomiędzy lekkim krążownikiem, a wielkim niszczycielem,
konstrukcyjnie wywodzącego się od niszczycieli, ale zdolnego do operowania na
Oceanie Atlantyckim. W założeniu miały
one służyć do rozpoznania na rzecz floty pancerników, które także planowano
zbudować. Miały mieć mieszany układ napędowy – turbiny parowe i silniki Diesla.
Planowano zbudowanie 6 jednostek, z których ostatecznie żadna nie powstała:
Otto Weddigen, Albrecht von Stosch, Paul Behncke, Paul Hundius, Eduard von
Jachmann, Lothar von Arnauld de La Periere (te nazwy to oczywiście moja
fantazja;)) Co do wyników symulacji – niestety trochę rozczarowują. Zwłaszcza
razi niska dzielność morska, co kłóci się mocno z atlantyckim przeznaczeniem
okrętów. Trzeba będzie chyba spróbować opracować alternatywny projekt
spahkreuzera, bo z projekt opracowany na podstawie faktycznie planowanych
danych jest sporym rozczarowaniem..

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
2 763 lbs / 1 253 Kg = 26,8 x 5,9 " / 150 mm shells or 0,6 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1,10
Metacentric height 2,0 ft / 0,6 m
Roll period: 14,4 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 57 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0,33
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 0,63
Hull form characteristics:
Hull has low quarterdeck
Block coefficient: 0,562
Length to Beam Ratio: 9,78 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 21,80 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 68 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 90
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 38,40 degrees
Stern overhang: 4,27 ft / 1,30 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 25,26 ft / 7,70 m
- Forecastle (20%): 16,73 ft / 5,10 m
- Mid (50%): 16,73 ft / 5,10 m
- Quarterdeck (15%): 9,84 ft / 3,00 m (16,73 ft / 5,10 m before break)
- Stern: 9,84 ft / 3,00 m
- Average freeboard: 16,38 ft / 4,99 m
Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 159,5%
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 111,0%
