Propozycja
przezbrojenia pancerników typu Deutschland w pancernik monokalibrowy.
14 dział kal. 170 mm zostało zastąpione przez 6 dział 280 mm,również
umieszczonych w kazamatach. W efekcie powstałby quasi-drednot uzbrojony w
sumie w 10 dział 280 mm, z czego aż 7 (czyli tylko o jedno mniej niż w
”prawdziwym”drednocie Nassau) może strzelać na jedną burtę. Zmiana
artylerii odbyła się kosztem zmniejszenia zapasu artylerii, zmniejszenia
zasięgu i prędkości ekonomicznej. Efekt jest jednak dość zachęcający –
takie jednostki w składzie Hochseeflotte były by niemal równorzędnym jej
składnikiem wobec innych niemieckich drednotów.

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
10 585 lbs / 4 801 Kg = 15,8 x 11,0 " / 280 mm shells or 1,8 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1,22
Metacentric height 4,5 ft / 1,4 m
Roll period: 14,5 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 86 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0,73
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1,71
Hull form characteristics:
Hull has a flush deck
Block coefficient: 0,562
Length to Beam Ratio: 5,75 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 20,46 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 48 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): -16,00 degrees
Stern overhang: 0,00 ft / 0,00 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 21,33 ft / 6,50 m
- Forecastle (20%): 19,69 ft / 6,00 m
- Mid (50%): 17,72 ft / 5,40 m
- Quarterdeck (15%): 17,72 ft / 5,40 m
- Stern: 17,72 ft / 5,40 m
- Average freeboard: 18,54 ft / 5,65 m

Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 155,7%
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 120,1%
Waterplane Area: 21 520 Square feet or 1 999 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 83%
Structure weight / hull surface area: 131 lbs/sq ft or 642 Kg/sq metre
