Francuski krążownik ciężki St. Louis - 03.06.2010

Stosunkowo udana (a w swojej klasie – wręcz znakomita) konstrukcja krążownika ciężkiego Algerie skłoniła francuskich projektantów do opracowania ich powiększonego następcy, na którego charakterystykach nie kładłyby się cieniem traktatowe ograniczenia wyporności. Zaprojektowane okręty przy wyporności standardowej ok. 15.000 ton i uzbrojeniu w 9 dział 203 mm w trzech wieżach, charakteryzowały się wzmocnionym opancerzeniem i większą prędkością niż którykolwiek z krążowników ciężkich zaprojektowanych z zachowaniem 10.000-tonowego limitu wyporności.
