Yamato, uzbrojony w 6x510 zamiast 9x460, ze zwiększoną wypornością,
prędkością i grubszym pancerzem, oraz - podobnie jak poprzedni typ -
pozbawione artylerii średniej na rzecz artylerii uniwersalnej kal. 100
mm. Planowano cztery okręty tego typu, które miały by wchodzić służby
po dwa w latach 1949 i 1950. Możliwe ich nazwy to: Yashima, Kawachi,
Owari, Harima.

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
147 597 lbs / 66 949 Kg = 36,5 x 20,1 " / 510 mm shells or 29,3 torpedoes

Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 38 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0,36
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 0,83
Hull form characteristics:
Hull has low quarterdeck
Block coefficient: 0,707
Length to Beam Ratio: 6,63 : 1
