Po dobrych
doświadczeniach z typem Grom, dwa kolejne niszczyciele tego typu
postanowiono zbudować w kraju. Okręty, pod które położono stępki w 1939
r., wg niektórych informacji miały nosić nazwy Huragan i Orkan. i miały

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
490 lbs / 222 Kg = 9,3 x 4,7 " / 120 mm shells or 0,3 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1,72
Metacentric height 2,9 ft / 0,9 m
Roll period: 9,5 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 26 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0,23
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 0,27
Hull form characteristics:
Hull has rise forward of midbreak
and transom stern
Block coefficient: 0,526
Length to Beam Ratio: 10,17 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 22,45 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 74 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 18,00 degrees
Stern overhang: 0,00 ft / 0,00 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 22,31 ft / 6,80 m
- Forecastle (20%): 18,37 ft / 5,60 m
- Mid (40%): 18,37 ft / 5,60 m (11,48 ft / 3,50 m aft of break)
- Quarterdeck (15%): 11,48 ft / 3,50 m
- Stern: 11,48 ft / 3,50 m
- Average freeboard: 14,55 ft / 4,44 m
Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 213,8%
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 108,6%
Waterplane Area: 10 642 Square feet or 989 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 56%
Structure weight / hull surface area: 36 lbs/sq ft or 176 Kg/sq metre
Hull strength (Relative):
- Cross-sectional: 0,47
- Longitudinal: 0,98
- Overall: 0,50
Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is extremely poor
Room for accommodation and workspaces is adequate
Ship has quick, lively roll, not a steady gun platform
Caution: Lacks seaworthiness - very limited seakeeping ability
