POW Olimpos - 12.12.2010

Na przełomie lat 70-tych i 80-tych XIX w. flota grecka byłasłabiutka, mając za najsilniejsze swoje jednostki dwa małe pancernikicentralnobateryjne z lat 60-tych: Basileos Georgios i Basilissa Olga, uzbrojonew odprzodowe działa 9-calowe. W tym samym czasie potencjalny rywal – Turcja -posiadał ok. 14 pancerników, w większości również niedużych i nie posiadającychdział większych niż 9-calowe, ale wśród nich był silny i nowoczesny pancernikcentralnobateryjny Mes’udiye, uzbrojony w 12 10-calówek. Jest jasne, że przeciwtakiej armadzie siły greckie były dalece niewystarczające, stąd pomysłwzmocnienia ich małym, ale nowoczesnym pancernikiem obrony wybrzeża.Proponowany okręt mógłby wyglądać np. tak:
